The dawn of the crooked Kautilyas.....

Image
Facts are stranger than fiction,as has been said by someone. Today from out of nowhere, the name Kautilya chimed in mah mind........For those whose history is as poor as mine let me remind you that Kautilya, Chanakya or Vishnugupta,by whatever name you call him, is considered as one of the most able politician and minister in the Indian history. He was a philosopher and a statesman of outstanding class and his classic compilation on material success and polity- 'Arthasashtra' is valued even today!!!whew....enough of History isnt it Well coming to point straight away,I fantasized that the modern era can be called an era of crooked Kautilyas, and while i say so it is no exaggeration by any means. The way the political parties in India stoop to any low to politicise each and everything, just to make their narrow ends meet shows the height of crooked 'politicism'........The Satyam scam where creative accounting was resorted to for duping investors and the public at large show...

Its not every day that i spill on the blog the routines and memoirs of the day,but today i was sort of compelled , coz today something caught me unawares..... Of late I have developed this very habit of travelling by auto rickshaws during even my shortest stint of journeys, not because i have become sort of spendthrift but there is something that magnetizes me to the persons driving them i.e... " the autorickshaw wallas " The autorickshaw wallas especially in Delhi have been alleged to be cunniving , greedy ,fraudsters and believe me most of them really are, with due apologies, but its the truth. But today, i met two of them, who also fell in the same above category and overcharged me but some sort of conversation subdued which kept me in glues. The first persona was extraordinarily polite,a very rare trait that you often see in Delhi where mannerisms crawl at a snail's pace....but the second one was the main reason for me writing this sort of diary entry!! He was a man in ...

Vinod-was amongst those youths who in their very formative years migrate to the metropolitan city of Bombay, now Mumbai with parachute laden dreams in their eyes, with the earnest desire of being a denizen of "Lokhandwala or Nariman Point",the posh colony out there besides garnering heaps of wealth, but seldom do they realise that they r missing out on something vital in the life, so vital that the gratitude bestowed by their flair & destiny looks like a bane to them............. It took Vinod approx. 10 years to be well settled in Mumbai.Being a civil engineer in one of the major construction company,he was content with the subtle life he was living. Several accomplices, both in and outside office but no time as of yet to share his feelings with, that was it. He worked incessantly dedicating himself to the process of minting money. But still at the end of the day,he was a lone ranger in this murkier world and was more than content with his destiny and workaholic nature...

<<<>>>The Man who trespassed the convoy!!

Image
A hot scorching noon in the month of June and my eyes caught hold of a person, down the street, bristling across the by-walkers like a maniac as if he had to reach somewhere in a hurry.... Suddenly,he was clogged by the sight of the incalculable number of warranted employees of police force, standing and patrolling the by-lanes .The traffic, which had piled up by now had come to a standstill, waiting fervently for the V.I.P. convoy to pass down the lane. This fellow had some carton sort of thing in his hand, and wore a deserted look on the face. With great perplexed sort of expression, he swept the sweat off his forehead and breached the security to traverse the street. It was followed by a long, tense and silent period broken only by the shouts of policemen, who apprehended the man ,and pounced on him with lathi-blows. The man laid undeterred and unrepentant of his actions, helplessly staring the surroundings, and still seemed too desperate to get to his destination. The officers, suspecting...
