<<<>>> The talk-stopper!!!!!
Its not every day that i spill on the blog the routines and memoirs of the day,but today i was sort of compelled ,coz today something caught me unawares.....Of late I have developed this very habit of travelling by auto rickshaws during even my shortest stint of journeys, not because i have become sort of spendthrift but there is something that magnetizes me to the persons driving them i.e... "the autorickshaw wallas"
The autorickshaw wallas especially in Delhi have been alleged to be cunniving, greedy ,fraudsters and believe me most of them really are, with due apologies, but its the truth. But today, i met two of them, who also fell in the same above category and overcharged me but some sort of conversation subdued which kept me in glues.
The first persona was extraordinarily polite,a very rare trait that you often see in Delhi where mannerisms crawl at a snail's pace....but the second one was the main reason for me writing this sort of diary entry!!
He was a man in his early 50s and the nightmarish traffic jams of Delhi forced him to engage me in a sort of conversation, and soon he became churning out one story after the another, relating to his personal life, each followed with a piece of advice........which really made me ponder. In his words he was driving the auto from the days when petrol costed jus 6.40 paise and he said he has seen the times change and seemed frustrated the way young generation was shaping up!!!
1) His First advice was a comment on the growing spate of crimes in Delhi, simple it may sound but he said a million dollar wordings according to me,when thought over
"साहब,कानून ज्यादातर वही तोड़ते हैं जिन्हें पता नही है की कानून है क्या...........कानून की जानकारी एक डर पैदा करती है और जिम्मेदारों को ऐसा जुर्म करने से हिचकिचाना ही पड़ता है "
२) -It was a sort of satirical comment on the time taken by our esteemed judiciary system to finish off the pending cases. His wordings-
अदालत का मतलब
अ - आओ (attracts the aggrieved)
दा - दो (money)
ल- लौटो(forget the case for years)
त - तंग आ जाओ(become frustrated as case drags on)
Knowledge is amassed through thought and experience of innumerable minds, and he was my teacher for the day.....His words sort of etched in my mind!!
Wisdom comes by experience and not by education and knowledge alone, and he proved that.He didn't say anything so intellectual n logical that may make my head turn, but his decent n down to earth talks embedded the harsh realities of life.....A thing even the general public of India feels, but hesitates to bring it till the tongue!!
This post is dedicated sincerely not to just that fellow but to each and every person who may or may not be anybody's idol but is strong enough to carry on his life, after facing endless challenges and being a witness and silent sufferer of innumerable agonies which the inefficient machinery of the country inflicts ..........Kudos to them!!!
